FAQ
I can't see my Mac in the connection list
- Confirm both devices are on the same local network
- Check that Panoramac Connect is running on your Mac (look for the menu bar icon)
- Check your Mac's firewall settings — Panoramac Connect needs to accept incoming connections
- Try restarting both apps
My Mac is on the network but Panoramac still can't find it
If your Mac appears online but Panoramac on Apple Vision Pro doesn't detect it, try the following in order:
- Quit Panoramac Connect on your Mac completely, then relaunch it. If Panoramac Connect was left running across sleep/wake cycles or crashed without cleaning up, the previous process may still be holding the connection port. Click the Panoramac Connect icon in your Mac's menu bar and choose Quit Panoramac Connect (or press ⌘Q), wait 5 seconds, then launch the app again from the Applications folder.
- Re-check that both devices are on the same local network. Multi-band routers can place the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands on separate subnets, guest networks are isolated from primary networks, and a Mac can also be connected by Ethernet. Open System Settings on your Mac and Settings on your Apple Vision Pro, and confirm both devices are on the same local network segment.
- Disconnect from any VPN on both devices. Panoramac uses Bonjour to discover your Mac on the local network, and VPN connections can route mDNS traffic away from your local network. Disconnect any active VPN on both your Mac and Apple Vision Pro, then try again.
- Use "Enter IP Address Manually" if Bonjour discovery is blocked. If the Mac list stays empty and you know your Mac's local IP address, open Enter IP Address Manually on the connection screen, enter the IP address, and connect. If the app asks for a code, enter the current 4-digit Panoramac Code shown in the Panoramac Code panel on your Mac.
- Ask your network administrator about Bonjour / mDNS. On managed networks (corporate Wi-Fi, school networks, guest networks, some mesh routers), multicast DNS may be blocked or isolated between devices. If you do not know your Mac's local IP address, or manual entry is not permitted on your network, forward the following to your network administrator:
“Panoramac uses Apple's Bonjour service (mDNS over UDP port 5353, multicast addresses 224.0.0.251 and FF02::FB) to automatically discover a Mac on the same local network. If Bonjour multicast traffic is blocked on this network, Panoramac cannot find the Mac. Could you confirm Bonjour/mDNS is permitted between client devices on the same VLAN segment?”
The video is choppy or laggy
- Use a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network for better performance
- Move closer to your Wi-Fi router
- Lower the resolution or frame rate in Panoramac settings, or lower the bitrate from the Panoramac Connect menu bar app on your Mac
- Close bandwidth-heavy applications on your network
I granted Screen Recording permission but Panoramac Connect still can't capture my screen
macOS sometimes fails to register the permission grant until the app is relaunched, or the permission record can become stale after a macOS update. If granting Screen Recording in System Settings didn't take effect:
Option A — Reset via System Settings (recommended)
- Quit Panoramac Connect from the menu bar (or press ⌘Q)
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording
- Find Panoramac Connect in the list, click the – button to remove it, then click the + button to add it back from Applications
- Repeat for Privacy & Security > Accessibility
- Launch Panoramac Connect again and re-grant permissions when prompted
Option B — Reset via Terminal
This procedure is intended for macOS Sonoma 14 or later. Please contact support if it does not work on your version.
- Quit Panoramac Connect from the menu bar (or press ⌘Q)
- Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
- Run the following command to reset the Screen Recording permission record for Panoramac Connect:
tccutil reset ScreenCapture com.panoramac.mac
- Launch Panoramac Connect again and re-grant Screen Recording when prompted
The same approach works for Accessibility permission by replacing ScreenCapture with Accessibility:
tccutil reset Accessibility com.panoramac.mac
Important: Always include the bundle identifier at the end (com.panoramac.mac). Running tccutil reset ScreenCapture without the bundle identifier would reset Screen Recording permissions for all apps on your Mac.
Note: tccutil with the bundle identifier only resets the permission record for Panoramac Connect. Other apps' permissions are not affected.
How do I manage my subscription?
On your Apple Vision Pro or iPhone, go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions to view, change, or cancel your subscription.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Panoramac on your Apple Vision Pro and use the Restore Purchases option within the app.
Where does remote desktop traffic go?
Remote desktop screen and input data are streamed directly between your Mac and Apple Vision Pro over your local network. That remote desktop content is not sent to external servers, stored, or shared by Panoramac. You are responsible for the security of your local network and devices. App Store subscription features may contact Apple's services. See our Privacy for details.
